Luffy (Work in Progress) 2D digital piece

Here's a series of work in progress pieces for a new digital art piece which I have been working on. My aim is to produce a piece of character art which appears if it has been taken directly from the scene of an anime or the front cover of a manga volume. As of writing this, I am currently 8 hours into this project and there is still a long way to go before I reach the final design I am aiming for! So far, this is the longest piece of digital art which I have worked on; as such I choose to work on it periodically, doing a piece at a time until completion. I have found this realistic anime style really enjoyable and can't wait to publish the full piece and display it to everyone!
